Ellen Gordon holds an undergraduate degree from Boston University and a master’s degree from Baruch College, NYC. She has exhibited regionally and is the recipient of many awards, including , Best in Show 2017 Ridgefield Guild of Artists Members Exhibition, Best in Show 2017 “Peripheral Vision”, members exhibition of the Greenwich Art Society at the Flinn Gallery, Best in Show 2013 in the 96th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Bendheim Gallery of the Greenwich Arts Center, the 2009 National Faber Birren Color Award Exhibition at the Stamford Art Society, the George W. McClellan Award for Watercolor from the Greenwich Arts Society at the Flinn Gallery in 2011 and the 2015 Greenwich Art Society Award at the Flinn Gallery. Her work is in many private locations across the country and abroad. Ellen Gordon is co executive director of the Loft Artists Association in Stamford and serves on the board of the Greenwich Art Society. Ms. Gordon teaches art programs for art lovers of all ages. Ellen Gordon is a Stamford based mixed media artist. Her work is based on drawings from private sessions with a model. The finished work speaks about the creative magic that happens when inspiration and form collide. The artwork itself is the result of a searching process – finding the shapes and lines in both the figure and transcribing those lines into contemporary portrait compositions. Ellen Gordon’s art training is from the Greenwich Art Society Silvermine Arts Guild and the Rowayton Arts Centre.
